(1) Based on the recommendation of the medical board constituted by the Government of Nepal that a military person in service, his spouse or wife should be treated at home and abroad, in addition to the medical expenses to be received according to Rule 90, additional financial assistance amount as deemed appropriate by the Government of Nepal will be given on the recommendation of the following committee.
(a) Secretary to the Ministry – Chairman
(b) Secretary of the Ministry of Finance or authorized representative appointed by him - Member
(c) Worker – Member
(d) Director General of Military Health – Member
(e) One senior doctor of a central level military hospital – member
(2) The committee as per sub-rule (1) while recommending funds for additional financial assistance, in case of serious illness, will recommend a maximum of five lakh rupees according to the bill of the amount incurred during treatment. Explanation: For the purpose of this rule, critical illness means diseases related to kidney, heart and cancer.
